Easy Rice Pilaf

This classic rice dish pairs nicely with grilled beef or chicken, and is a snap to put together. Customize this dish to your liking by adding a handful of dried fruit or nuts.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 15 minutes

2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1 cup uncooked white long-grain rice
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 cups vegetable stock
Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook 3 minutes, until the onion is fragrant and becomes translucent.

Add the rice and stir, until the rice just begins to brown. Add the garlic salt and turmeric to the skillet and stir until evenly combined.

Stir in the stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
